Today I went to the city and bought myself a Bible, along with a copy of C.S. Lewis' Mere Christianity, and have started reading them both. I've been planning on reading the Bible for some time now, and I remember when I told her this she told me to start with the New Testament because the Old Testament is too boring. I feel the need, though, to start at the very beginning.
Good luck in your search. You might want to try starting with the New Testament. Start with Acts, then move onto the four Gospels (in order). The Old Testament God is a Bastard (my dad's a minister, I can say that) and not for the faint of heart or new to the faith. Again good luck. God be With you
